Deposits & Payments

After your reservation has been made we will send you our policies, Terms and Conditions, and Rental Agreement via email – unless requested otherwise. Please review all information and verify that all contact information and arrival/departure dates are correct. The attached Pdf. is the Rental Agreement to be signed and returned to our office via fax or email within 48 hours of receipt.

Please be sure to provide your Driver’s License and vehicle information (vehicle information can wait if renting a car or if not sure of which vehicle you will use to travel). Return the signed Rental Agreement to our office with a legible copy of your Driver’s license (required for first time guests only).

A reservation guarantee equal to one night’s rent and processing fee will be required at time of booking. For reservations of 30 days or longer a 25% of the monthly rate is required as a Reservation Guarantee. The balance of the total rental rate, including cleaning fee, and city tax is due 30 days prior to arrival date. If your payment is not received in our office within 7 days, your reservation will be canceled without further notice. Please email or call our office if you plan to pay by check. Upon receipt of your signed contract, the card on file will be charged accordingly, either the Reservation Guarantee or the full payment (if within 30 days), a Credit Card receipt will be sent to you via email. If paying only a reservation guarantee, the remaining balance will be due 30 days prior to your arrival date. For last minute reservations, or any reservation made within 30 days to arrival, full payment is required. Payment must be made by guaranteed funds; Visa, Master or Discover Card, cashier’s check or money order. Personal checks cannot be accepted.

Credit Cards
A valid credit card is required to make a reservation. When paying by credit card, the name of the person mentioned in the reservation, must also be the name that appears on the credit card. A picture I.D. will also be required. The credit card holder must also be 25 years of age or older. Refunds on processed payments will not be made for the purpose of using a different credit card.

Returned Checks
There will be a $50 service charge for any check that is returned unpaid from the bank. The amount plus the service charge must be paid immediately or the reservation will be automatically canceled.

Substitutions
While every effort is made to accommodate guests in the specific property requested and reserved, change in ownership, damage or malfunction, may cause that property to become unavailable. We will contact you as soon as possible and shall make every attempt to find suitable alternate accommodations for the same period.

If a suitable substitute property cannot be procured, Beach Bum Holiday Rentals and Management’s sole liability shall be to provide a full refund of all monies already received.

Cancellations & Refunds

If the check-in date is more than 30 days from the cancellation the reservation guarantee is forfeit. All monies paid are forfeit if the check-in date is within 30 days.

If you choose to cancel your reservation for any reason all monies paid are forfeit.

Bed Tax 
Rentals of less than 30 nights are subject to a transient occupancy tax. All county areas such as Avila Beach and Oceano also impose the 12.0% tax on the cleaning fee.

Pismo Beach: 14.5% for all reservations 30 days or less
Arroyo Grande: 13.5% for all reservations 30 days or less
Avila Beach: 12.5% for all reservations 30 days or less
Grover Beach: 13.5% for all reservations 30 days or less
Oceano: 12.5% for all reservations 30 days or less

Security Deposit or Damage Protection Insurance Required

For all vacation rental bookings, we require either a refundable Security Deposit (which varies depending on the property) charged the day before check-in and refunded 7-21 days after check-out, or $49 Damage Protection Insurance: See below

Security Deposit Waiver
For your convenience you have the option of $49 Accidental Damage Protection Insurance. Accidental Damage Protection Insurance covers up to $1000 if the property or its contents are ACCIDENTLY damaged during the guests stay, subject to plan terms and conditions. This insurance is non-refundable.

A Security Deposit is required on all long-term and monthly reservations and is equal to one month’s rent. This is due one day prior to move-in. This deposit protects the owners from any material, accidental damage done to the rental property.

If proper check-out procedures are not followed an “Excessive Cleaning” fee may be charged. If the property is left: unclean and in an un-orderly manner, unsecured, and/or with lights/heat left on. For more information on what is considered excessive, see the Check in/Check out page. Remember that this is someone’s home…please respect it and treat it as you would your own.

If you violate the terms and conditions of your Rental Agreement or create a nuisance at the property and are asked to leave, you will lose any remaining rental monies and forfeit any Security Deposit.

Vacation Interruption Insurance
To help protect your vacation investment we are pleased to provide you with Guest Trip Cancellation protection through CSA Travel Protection. This plan includes coverage for severe weather, medical emergencies, trip delays, baggage loss or delay, car rental coverage and cancellation or interruption coverage for a variety of covered reasons. Our Reservation Specialists can provide you with more details. Questions may also be directed to CSA Travel Protection (800) 348-9505. The cost of Trip Insurance is indicated on your rental agreement and is due with your advance payment. For details, please read the brochure outlining the benefits, exclusions and limitations or call the toll-free number on the brochure for any questions. We highly recommend this coverage to protect your vacation investment, especially for those of you staying for a month or longer. The cost of Travel Insurance is included in your rental rate and is due and payable with your advance payment. If you elect not to accept Travel Insurance you may opt out and the amount will be deducted from your reservation.
