For some of the best breakfast and lunch options around, stop by Honeymoon Café on Price Street, located only a few blocks from the tourist masses filling Pomeroy Avenue. Honeymoon offers some of the best food on Price Street, which is truly saying something, as Price Street is the best avenue for food in Pismo Beach! 

On weekends, Honeymoon offers breakfast burritos with an option for every taste. There are hashes, wraps, scrambles, California-Mexican grillables, and even off-menu favorites like moonrise on pita with cilantro. Honeymoon is among the healthier SLO County options, with a lunch menu of tasty salads, smoothies, street tacos, and sandwiches. The place is so popular on weekends, it is best to show up early if you don’t want to wait in a line stretching from the counter to the sidewalk!

Surfside Donuts and Coffee

To satisfy your sweet tooth, Surfside Donuts is sure to hit the spot. It’s a one-of-a-kind donut shop in the Pismo Beach area because good donuts and coffee are necessary near the beach. Donuts are freshly baked every morning, and the menu changes daily. Here you’ll find some of the classic donut varieties as well as some more exotic. Specialty donuts include the Strawberry Clam Shell donut (offered in spring and summer during the strawberry season), The Dirt Surf, The Elvis, Mexican Hot Chocolate, Blueberry Filled, and Maple Bacon. There is something to satisfy all tastebuds!

To top it all off, order a hot coffee or cold drink, or if you’re attempting to be a little healthier, try the delicious acai bowl, which comes with a frozen fruit base mixed with fruit juice. The bowl is then topped with granola and coconut shreds, dribbled in either honey or Nutella.

Drop by at 603 Dolliver Street for the best sweets in town. The place has its own parking lot, which is rare in this part of town. Opening hours are from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. seven days a week.

Huckleberry’s

For some fantastic Southern-style breakfast and lunch, try Huckleberry’s. Menu features like the Mardi Gras Beignets will make you feel just a few steps away from the Bayou! For breakfast, consider the signature chicken and waffles, skillet hotties, and omelets. There’s also the Southern-inspired Mississippi platter with ham, crisp bacon, sausage, bell peppers, and onions and mushrooms topped with Monterey Jack cheese. Or try the New Orleans, with Andouille sausage, Louisiana shrimp, and mushrooms topped with melted Monterey Jack cheese. For lunch, there’s no other place in Pismo Beach where you can find Fried Green Tomatoes, Creole Style Louisiana Catfish, or N’awlins Sandwiches!

Lil’ Bits Café

For classically delicious café food, look no further than Lil’ Bits Café. Its menu offers all the omelet varieties you could possibly eat. There is an option of building your own breakfast with sides of toast, fries, soup, biscuits and gravy, and more. The breakfast fun doesn’t stop after 10 a.m. because breakfast is available all day! Combine your omelet with a burger, beef hash, or breakfast burger. This hearty food will fill you up for the rest of the day! There are also sandwiches, salads, and wraps.

Penny’s All American Café

This family-owned and operated café prides itself on great food and customer service. The café offers a casual, family-friendly setting and food you’ll find yourself coming back for. For breakfast, choose from various all-American breakfast options, including bacon and eggs, sausages, sirloin, ham, pancakes, French toast, waffles, eggs benedict, and specialty omelets. For a taste of Mexico, try chorizo sausage, seasoned steak with salsa, spicy eggs, or Pork Chili Verde. All are served with Spanish rice, tortillas, and beans. 

For lunch, take your pick of delectable sandwiches and burgers. Specialties include the BLT Croissant Extreme, Penny’s Favorite Sandwich, Charbroiled Tri-Tip Steak Sandwich, and Chicken Strip Sandwich. Sample fresh seafood sides like clam chowder and fish and chips. Anything you order can be purchased alongside a healthy side of soups and salads.

The Steaming Bean is another favorite Pismo Beach coffee shop, priding itself on its quality products and sense of community. All coffee is made on a press with love. Sample your choice of espresso: single, Americano, Cappuccino, Latte, Aulait, or RedEye. Try hot or cold coffee and teas or sample from a wide variety of specialties, including vanilla bean, Carmello, mocha, white mocha, Mexican mocha, black and white, milky way, snickers, grasshopper, and coco cow.
